It's not just sexual immorality; we need to flee whatever temptations we face! The Bible specifically tells us to flee from idolatry (1 Cor. 10:14), the love of money (1 Tim. 6:10-11), and youthful lusts (2 Tim. 2:22). The Scriptures also tell us to get rid of absolutely anything that makes us sin (Mt. 18:8-9).
The concept of fleeing temptation is very simple - if there is a temptation in a particular place, get out of there and don't go back! But in practice, it's more difficult for us, because it means avoiding things we want to do and places we want to be. (After all, that's the whole idea behind "temptation" - you're never tempted by what you don't like!) Like Joseph, we have to put God before anything else. Making God happy has to be more important to me than making myself happy.

I'm reminded of this passage: "Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep." Romans 12:15
As a christian family, we need to be happy for our brothers and sisters when good things come their way, showing and sharing that joy with them. We also need to comfort them when they face difficult times. If we love our brethren like we should, we will care about how they feel, and we will do what we can to avoid the temptation of envying their good fortune.

How many times did the Israelites pledge to obey God, then fall into idolatry? They faltered over and over again because they were lured into sin by the Canaanites. We are of the same human nature, and can so easily be lured into sin by people who are worldly if we constantly surround ourselves with them instead of with godly Christians.

Remembering that will help keep us from being discouraged when things do not go as we expect them to. Things may work out better than we expected in the long run!

We need to make sure our children see us laboring to teach lost souls. If they do not see us making every effort to teach others, they will not fully understand our duty as christians to bring lost souls unto Christ. I'm afraid that our lack of commitment to teach our friends and family members will only lead to our children not fulfilling that duty when they are older.

We should NOT be consumed with pursuing earthly treasures, for these things are only temporary. We need to labor for those things which will lead us to everlasting life. We must work diligently to bring lost souls to Christ, who is the bread of life. Two passages that come to mind: Matthew 6:19-21 and John 6:22-40

We can speak up and stand for what is right. If we are faced with the chance to do something wrong, we should refuse to do it AND tell why we won't do it. People around us should know that we are Christians and that our faith guides every decision.

We must carefully balance outside influences and keep our children from being swayed by those who are not Christians. We should keep our kids from being influenced by friends and even family members who are not good for them spiritually.

I think Christians can be a good influence on those around them through their speach. If we refer to God and how good He is to us in our speach it can make others think about such things. Whether it just makes them stop and consider all the good that God does bring into people's lives or if it causes them to want to be closer to God, there can be much good. We ought to express a love of God and thankfulness in what we say to others. Let our speach reflect our relationship with God.
